Diversity Visa
A Diversity Visa is an immigration visa which is issued by the U.S. State Department and is stamped inside the valid passport of a foreign national who has been approved to become a Lawful Permanent Resident (LPR) of the United States of America. It authorizes a foreign national who is approved for U.S. permanent residency to initially enter the United States at the port of entry. The Diversity Visa is different from the hard plastic Green Card which is issued by the US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) agency afterwards and is carried as an official form of identification to prove that that a foreign national is an LPR of the USA who is permitted to live, work and study long-term in the United States.
